Camera Systems Engineer
PlanBlue is on a mission to harness the critical role of the seafloor in addressing global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and food insecurity. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Camera Systems Engineer to join our Field Tools team. In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain our cutting-edge automated underwater hyperspectral imaging systems—playing a key role in advancing our mission and driving meaningful impact.
The ideal candidate is well versed in the theory, hardware, and software that go into producing complex imaging systems using a combination of off-the-shelf industrial cameras and sensors with custom electronics and software.
Bonus points for experience with robotics, navigation systems, hyperspectral imaging, and lighting simulation.
Degree in related fields, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Optical Sciences.
Experience with image sensors, image processing, and image quality; minimum 3 years.
Deep knowledge of optics and camera components; minimum 3 years.
Fluency in C / C++ and Python.
Bonus If You Bring
Experience with Embedded Electronics firmware development using RTOS.
Experience with git and docker.
Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platform.
Experience with industrial cameras and components.
Experience with multiple sensor integration.
Experience with creating and evaluating lighting and imaging simulations.
Experience with hyperspectral imaging.
Experience with navigation systems: GNSS, DVL, IMU.
Experience with robotics using ROS2.
Competitive salary between €50,000-70,000 per year.
